Creating coupons

Coupons give customers a discount when they enter a code at checkout. You can create codes for specific products, minimum order amounts, or store-wide sales.

Creating a coupon

1. From your admin, go to Discounts
2. Click Create Coupon
3. Enter the coupon details:
   • Code - What customers enter (e.g., "SUMMER20")
   • Discount type - Percentage, fixed amount, or free shipping
   • Value - The discount amount
4. Click Save

Setting conditions

Control when and how coupons can be used:

Minimum requirements

• Minimum purchase - Order must reach a certain value
• Minimum quantity - Order must include a certain number of items

Product restrictions

• Specific products - Only apply to selected items
• Specific categories - Only apply to certain categories
• Exclude sale items - Don't stack with existing discounts

Customer restrictions

• Specific customers - Only certain accounts can use the code
• First-time customers - Only for new buyers

Usage limits

Prevent coupon abuse with limits:

Total uses

Set how many times a coupon can be used in total:

1. In the coupon settings, find Usage limits
2. Set the Total uses limit
3. Save your changes

Per-customer limit

Limit how many times each customer can use the code:

1. Enable Limit per customer
2. Set the maximum (usually 1)
3. Save

Setting dates

Control when coupons are active:

1. In the coupon settings, find Active dates
2. Set a Start date (optional)
3. Set an End date (optional)
4. Save your changes

Coupons outside their active dates won't work at checkout.

Managing coupons

View coupon performance

1. Go to Discounts
2. Click on a coupon
3. View usage statistics

See how many times a coupon has been used and the total discount given.

Deactivating a coupon

To stop a coupon from working:

1. Open the coupon
2. Toggle Active to off
3. Save your changes

You can reactivate it later if needed.
