Media library
The media library stores all your images, videos, and files in one place. Keep your media organized so you can quickly find and use assets across your store.
Accessing the media library
- From your admin, go to Design > Media Library
- Browse, search, or upload files
You can also access the media library when adding images to products or pages.
Uploading files
Upload methods
- Drag and drop - Drop files onto the library
- Click to upload - Use the upload button to browse
- From URL - Import images from web addresses
Supported formats
- Images - JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP
- Videos - MP4, WebM
- Documents - PDF
Tip
Use JPG for photographs and PNG for graphics with transparency. WebP offers good compression for web use.
Organizing media
Folders
Create folders to organize your files:
- Click New Folder
- Name your folder
- Drag files into the folder
Suggested folder structure:
- Products
- Banners
- Blog
- Brand assets
Search and filter
Find files quickly:
- Search by filename
- Filter by file type
- Sort by date or name
Editing images
Basic editing is available in the library:
- Select an image
- Click Edit
- Make adjustments:
- Crop and resize
- Adjust brightness/contrast
- Add alt text
- Save changes
Tip
Always add alt text to images for accessibility and SEO. Describe what the image shows in a few words.
Image optimization
The media library automatically optimizes images:
- Compression - Reduces file size without visible quality loss
- Responsive sizes - Creates multiple sizes for different devices
- Lazy loading - Images load as customers scroll
This helps your store load faster for customers.
Using media
In products
- Edit a product
- Click Add images
- Select from the media library or upload new
- Arrange the order
In pages
- In the page builder, add an image component
- Select from the media library
- Adjust size and positioning
In other areas
The media library is available wherever you can add images:
- Category images
- Banner images
- Blog posts
- Email templates
Important
Deleting a file from the media library removes it everywhere it's used. Check where an image is used before deleting.
