Redirects
Redirects automatically send visitors from an old URL to a new one. Use them when you rename pages, restructure your store, or move content to keep links working and maintain your search engine rankings.
Why use redirects?
When you change a page URL, anyone with the old link gets a "Page not found" error. Redirects solve this by automatically sending visitors to the correct page.
Common reasons to add redirects:
- Renamed products - Old product URLs still work after a name change
- Restructured categories - Customers with bookmarked category pages aren't lost
- Marketing campaigns - Short URLs that point to specific landing pages
- Merged pages - Combine duplicate content without losing traffic
SEO benefit
Redirects tell search engines that content has moved, helping preserve your search rankings when URLs change.
Viewing redirects
- From your admin, go to Settings > Redirects
- All configured redirects are displayed in a table showing the Old URL and New URL
The list supports pagination, so you can browse through large numbers of redirects easily.
Searching redirects
To find a specific redirect:
- Type a URL or keyword in the Search URLs field
- Click Search
- The table filters to show matching redirects (searches both old and new URLs)
- Click Clear to remove the search filter
Tip
The search is case-insensitive, so searching for "/shoes" will also find "/Shoes" or "/SHOES".
Creating a redirect
- From the Redirects page, click Create Redirect
- Fill in the redirect details:
- Old URL - The URL path to redirect from (e.g.,
/old-page) - New URL - The URL path to redirect to (e.g.,
/new-page)
- Old URL - The URL path to redirect from (e.g.,
- Click Create Redirect
The new redirect takes effect immediately for your store visitors.
URL format
When entering URLs, use the path portion only (starting with /):
| Old URL | New URL | Result |
|---|---|---|
/summer-sale | /promotions/summer | Visitors to /summer-sale go to /promotions/summer |
/old-category | /new-category | Category links keep working |
Deleting a redirect
- Find the redirect in the table
- Click the delete icon on the right
- Review the redirect details in the confirmation dialog

Important
Deleting a redirect cannot be undone. Visitors using the old URL will see a "Page not found" error once the redirect is removed.
