Chat configuration
Chat configuration lets you add a Facebook Messenger chat widget to your store. Customers can click the chat button to start a conversation with you through Facebook Messenger.
Setting up chat
- From your admin, go to Settings > Chat Configuration
- Toggle Chat Enabled to on
- Select Facebook Messenger as the chat provider
- Enter your Facebook Page ID
- Click Save changes
Once configured, a Messenger chat button will appear on your store.
Finding your Facebook Page ID
Your Facebook Page ID is a numeric identifier for your Facebook Business Page:
- Go to your Facebook Business Page
- Click About in the left menu
- Scroll down to find Page ID
- Copy the numeric ID (e.g., 105345100956660)
Tip
Make sure you're using a Facebook Business Page, not a personal profile. Only Business Pages can be used for Messenger chat widgets.
How it works
When customers click the chat button on your store:
- A Facebook Messenger window opens
- They can send you a message
- You receive and respond to messages in Facebook Messenger
- The conversation continues in Messenger
Important
All conversations happen in Facebook Messenger. You'll need to monitor your Facebook Page inbox to respond to customer messages.
Disabling chat
To remove the chat widget from your store:
- Go to Settings > Chat Configuration
- Toggle Chat Enabled to off
- Click Save changes
